JOE DASSIN - ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΑ




Ο Joseph Ira Dassen ήταν Γάλλος τραγουδιστής. Γεννήθηκε στη Νέα Υόρκη στις 5 Νοεμβρίου του 1938. Πατέρας του ήταν ο Αμερικανοεβραίος σκηνοθέτης του κινηματογράφου, Jules Dassin και της Beatrice Launer που ήταν βιρτουόζα του βιολιού από την Ουγγαρία.

Πέρασε τα παιδικά του χρόνια στη Νέα Υόρκη και στο Λος Άντζελες των ΗΠΑ. Αργότερα μετακόμισε με την οικογένειά του στην Ευρώπη. Σπούδασε στο International School στη Γενεύη, στο Institut Le Rosey της Ελβετίας και στο University of Michigan στις ΗΠΑ.

Μετά εγκαταστάθηκε στη Γαλλία, όπου εργάστηκε σε ραδιοφωνικό σταθμό. Εκεί άρχισε να ηχογραφεί τα τραγούδια του τα οποία κυκλοφόρησε και μέχρι τις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1070, ήταν στην κορυφή των charts σε πολλές χώρες. Μιλούσε πολλές γλώσσες και κυκλοφόρησε τα τραγούδια του, στα γαλλικά, αγγλικά, γερμανικά, ρωσικά, ισπανικά, ιταλικά και ελληνικά. Πέθανε αιφνιδίως ενώ βρισκόταν σε διακοπές στη Ταϊτή από καρδιακή προσβολή, στις 20 Αυγούστου του 1980 και θάφτηκε στο Χόλιγουντ.
